A Shock To the System (1990) follows Graham Marshall, who is on the verge of a much-anticipated promotion at his advertising firm. However, his plans are thwarted when he discovers that his subordinate, Roger Benham, is chosen for the promotion instead. Overwhelmed by frustration and a sense that his life will never improve, Graham devises a sinister scheme to exact brutal revenge on those who have wronged him, beginning with his unsettling spouse.
