Doublecrossed (TV) (1991) is a gripping made-for-cable film inspired by real events, focusing on Barry Seal, a daring pilot who found himself entangled in the dangerous world of drug trafficking for the notorious Medellin cartel based in Colombia. After being apprehended by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Seal made a pivotal decision to cooperate with the DEA in their efforts to dismantle the cartel. However, his involvement became increasingly complex as he was drawn into the covert operations of the Reagan/Bush administration during the 1980s. These operations aimed to overthrow the Nicaraguan government, with Nicaraguan rebels, known as "contras," being permitted to smuggle cocaine into the US in exchange for their support in fighting against the leftist Nicaraguan regime.
