Fuse: Memoirs of a Hunter Girl (2012) is set in the Edo period of Japan, where mysterious creatures known as Fuse roam the land. These Fuse are said to be half-human, half-dog hybrids with a sinister reputation for consuming human souls. The Shogun, alarmed by these rumors, places a bounty on the Fuse, leading to a wave of hunters seeking to eliminate them. Hamaji, a young and skilled huntress from the rural Mutsu region, receives a letter from her brother in Edo, urging her to join him in the hunt for the Fuse. Upon arriving in Edo, Hamaji encounters a peculiar young man with striking white hair who is being pursued by a group of men. This enigmatic figure, known as Shino, becomes a pivotal figure in Hamaji's journey as she navigates the dangerous world of Fuse hunting.
