Ride Lonesome (1959) follows the tense journey of a notorious fugitive, Billy John, who is apprehended by Ben Brigade, a seasoned bounty hunter. Brigade's mission is to transport Billy to Santa Cruz for his impending execution. Along the way, Brigade makes a strategic stop at a remote staging post, where he bravely defends the manager's wife from a sudden Indian ambush. Recognizing the need for additional protection, Brigade recruits two notorious outlaws to bolster his escort. However, the journey becomes increasingly perilous as Indian attacks continue, and the outlaws hatch a scheme to seize Billy for their own gain, enticed by the promise of amnesty. Meanwhile, Billy's brother, Frank, is relentlessly pursuing them, determined to free his sibling. Amidst these escalating threats, Brigade harbors his own secret agenda, adding layers of complexity to the perilous ride.
