Doctor Who: The Sontaran Experiment (TV) (1975) follows the Fourth Doctor, Sarah, and Harry as they land on an Earth that seems barren and uninhabited. They soon uncover a sinister plot involving a group of stranded astronauts from the human colony, GalSec, who were enticed to the planet by a false distress signal. One of the astronauts, Roth, reveals to Sarah that an alien entity is conducting horrifying experiments on him and his fellow crew members. The alien is identified as a Sontaran, Field-Major Styre, who is meticulously documenting human physical and mental strengths in preparation for a potential invasion of Earth.
