Call a Messenger (1939) follows the journey of a resilient young man from the streets who tries to steal from a post office but is apprehended. To escape the prospect of reform school, he secures a position as a messenger within the post office. Initially, he discovers a sense of purpose and enjoyment in his new role. When his brother is freed from prison, he strives to guide his sibling towards a lawful path. However, their lives become entangled with a notorious local gangster, who has a sinister scheme to exploit post office branches for robbery, intending to use the messenger and his brother as pawns in his criminal enterprise.
