Man with the Transplanted Brain (1971) follows the story of the renowned brain specialist, Professor Marcilly, who has dedicated extensive research to mastering brain transplant surgery. When a young car accident victim is brought to him, the only viable option for the victim's survival is a brain transplant. Given his own terminal heart condition, Marcilly makes the selfless decision to donate his brain. The surgery is successful, but the identity of the patient discharged from the hospital remains ambiguous: is it a young man with the brain of a youth, or an elderly man inhabiting a young body?
