On War (2008) follows a middle-aged filmmaker, Bertrand, as he grapples with existential questions while working on his next screenplay. The looming specter of mortality and the superficiality of the material world begin to weigh heavily on him. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a young man named Charles, who extends an invitation to join a unique group residing in a dilapidated countryside building. Within this community, Bertrand finds a group of contented individuals guided by a captivating woman named Uma. This new environment offers a stark contrast to Bertrand's previous life, where people live harmoniously, embracing nature's pleasures without the stress and artificiality of the world he left behind. However, Bertrand soon wonders if this idyllic setting harbors a more sinister undercurrent.
