Turist (Force Majeure) (2014) follows a Swedish family who embark on a skiing vacation in the French Alps. The trip begins idyllically with clear skies and stunning slopes. However, their peaceful outing is abruptly disrupted during a lunch at a mountaintop eatery when an avalanche strikes. As chaos ensues and patrons scatter, mother Ebba urgently calls for her husband Tomas while shielding their children. Tomas, however, is seen fleeing for safety. The avalanche miraculously causes no harm, but the incident leaves the family deeply shaken, particularly casting a shadow over Tomas's role as the family's protector. The once-solid foundation of Tomas and Ebba's marriage is now tested as Tomas desperately tries to regain his standing within the family.
