The Confessions (2016) unfolds during a pivotal G8 summit at an opulent hotel along the German coastline, where global economic leaders convene to implement crucial measures that will significantly impact the world economy. Among the attendees is an enigmatic Italian monk, portrayed by Toni Servillo, who has been summoned by Daniel Rochè, the head of the International Monetary Fund, played by Lambert Wilson. Rochè seeks the monk's counsel for a clandestine confession that same evening. The following morning, Rochè is discovered lifeless, setting off a chain of events that intertwine political intrigue, personal secrets, and the monk's mysterious role in the unfolding drama.
