Secret Window (2004) follows the story of Mort Rainey, a renowned author portrayed by Johnny Depp, who is grappling with a severe case of writer's block and the emotional turmoil of a bitter divorce. Instead of focusing on his next literary project or enjoying the serene surroundings of his lakeside cabin, Rainey finds himself sleeping excessively and struggling to find inspiration. His life takes a dark turn when a deranged individual named John Shooter, played by John Turturro, arrives at his doorstep. Shooter accuses Rainey of stealing his story and demands retribution. Despite Rainey's attempts to appease him, Shooter's demands grow more menacing, hinting at a sinister form of justice that could lead to deadly consequences.
