The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (TV Series) (2012) presents a contemporary adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," presented through the lens of a vlog by Lizzie Bennet. Lizzie chronicles her family's ups and downs, with the assistance of her best friend and aspiring filmmaker, Charlotte Lu, her "practically perfect" older sister, Jane, and her easily excitable younger sister, Lydia. Similar to the original story, Lizzie's mother is overly enthusiastic about marrying off her daughters to affluent men. When the wealthy medical student Bing Lee settles in the neighborhood and captures Jane's heart, the family dynamics shift dramatically. Soon after, Bing's extremely wealthy friend and entertainment corporation heir, the enigmatic Darcy, also enters the Bennet sisters' lives, adding further complexity to their world.
