Pillow of Death (1945) follows the story of a legal professional, Wayne Fletcher, who is entangled in a web of deceit and suspicion after his wife is discovered lifeless, suffocated in her bed. The narrative unfolds as Wayne's clandestine relationship with his secretary comes to light, making him the primary suspect in the eyes of the law. As detectives delve into the murder, a mysterious psychic with dubious intentions attempts to communicate with the deceased. Wayne's life takes a chilling turn when he starts experiencing haunting visions of his late wife, while those connected to the case meet their untimely ends, one after another.
