Winter Evening in Gagra (1985) tells the story of a passionate young man who is deeply in love with the art of step dance, a form of dance that has largely been forgotten. The only person who can help him master this art is Beglov, a former step dance superstar from the 1950s. However, as the popularity of step dance waned, Beglov lost everything and now harbors a deep resentment towards the very word "chechotka" (step dance). Despite his reluctance, the young man manages to persuade Beglov to take on the role of his coach and manager, setting the stage for a journey of rediscovery and redemption.
