Goodbye Again (1933) follows the story of Anne Rogers, who serves as the secretary to Kenneth Bixby, a renowned author of best-selling novels. During a lecture tour, Bixby encounters Julie Wilson, an old flame who believes she inspired the heroine of his latest book. Julie's husband, Harvey, harbors a deep dislike for Bixby, despite never having met him. Julie is determined to reignite their romance, leading to a complex web of relationships and misunderstandings. Anne steps in to manage the fallout, including Harvey's outrage and the interference of Julie's younger sister Elizabeth and her fiancé, Arthur Westlake. The plot thickens when Bixby and Julie spend a night together on a train to avoid detection by Harvey, Elizabeth, and Arthur. This event prompts Harvey to seek a divorce, and despite Bixby's insistence that nothing happened, Anne, driven by jealousy, distances herself from him. Bixby, however, has no intention of marrying Julie and employs various tactics to deter her advances.
