Kingdom of Felony (TV) (2008) follows the life of Diane of Meridor, a 23-year-old woman living a contented rural life with her father. Her world changes dramatically when she attends her first coming-out ball, orchestrated by the much older Count of Monsoreau, who harbors a possessive and jealous love for her and seeks to make her his wife. At the ball, the Duke of Anjou, brother of the king, attempts to take advantage of Diane, exploiting his royal status. Monsoreau seizes this opportunity to kidnap Diane and falsely accuses the Duke of Anjou of her abduction. To preserve her honor, Monsoreau offers to marry Diane, and her father, though heartbroken, agrees. Forced into a marriage with the despicable count, Diane is thrust into the treacherous world of the royal court, where she witnesses and becomes entangled in various plots to betray the king.
