Cheburashka (S) (1972) kicks off with Gena the Crocodile celebrating his birthday, where Cheburashka joins in to wish him well. The duo's joy is interrupted when they encounter a group of young pioneers. Inspired, Cheburashka and Gena express their desire to become pioneers as well. However, the young pioneers inform them that they must first master certain skills and excel in their tasks. Cheburashka and Gena eagerly take on the challenge but struggle with tasks like constructing bird-feeders. Instead, they channel their efforts into creating a playground for the city's children, who they find to be unenthusiastic about their current activities. Their kind gesture, along with their initiative to collect scrap metal for the pioneers, ultimately demonstrates their worth and dedication.
