Nankyoku tairiku: Kami no ryouiki ni idonda otoko to inu no monogatari (TV Series) (2011) is a compelling drama that marks TBS's 60th anniversary. The narrative revolves around an intrepid group of 11 individuals who embarked on a historic journey to the South Pole in February 1957 as part of a national expedition to explore Antarctica. Accompanying them were 19 Sakhalin huskies, integral to their dog-sled team. A year later, when the team prepared to return to Japan, harsh weather conditions compelled them to leave the dogs behind. In January 1959, Kuramochi Takeshi and a few others embarked on a third expedition with the mission to rescue the abandoned canines.
