An Innocent Man (1989) follows the story of Jimmie Rainwood, who finds his life turned upside down when two dishonest police officers, mistakenly targeting his address, raid his home. Believing him to be a significant drug dealer, they shoot Rainwood and subsequently fabricate evidence to implicate him in drug trafficking. Convicted on the basis of false testimony from a police informant, Rainwood is sentenced to prison. Navigating the harsh realities of incarceration, Rainwood struggles to clear his name amidst a prison environment where many inmates claim to be wrongfully convicted.
