Good News (1947) is set in the vibrant Roaring 20's at the fictional Tait University, where a librarian named Connie Lane (June Allyson) develops feelings for the university's star football player, Tommy Marlowe (Peter Lawford). However, Tommy's attention is diverted by the alluring and manipulative Pat McClellan. As Tommy's academic performance begins to decline, he risks missing out on the crucial game. Connie, determined to win Tommy back and restore his eligibility, devises a clever strategy to help him regain his focus and return to the field.
