Nikita (La femme Nikita) (1990) follows the journey of a young woman, Nikita (Anne Parillaud), who, along with two nihilist companions, engages in a violent robbery and murder under the influence of drugs. Instead of facing execution or imprisonment, Nikita is sent to a unique institution designed to train special operatives. She is informed that her former identity has been erased, and she will undergo rigorous training to repay society for her crimes by becoming a spy and assassin. After more than two years of intense preparation, Nikita is abruptly given a mission: she is handed a gun in a restaurant and instructed to eliminate the man sitting at the next table, all while her handler swiftly departs.
