My Family (TV Series) (2000) revolves around the chaotic life of Ben Harper, a man who yearns for tranquility but finds himself constantly surrounded by his eccentric family. His eldest son, Nick, is portrayed as a bumbling, job-hopping individual who eventually leaves the nest. Daughter Janey is depicted as a superficial young woman with a string of boyfriends, while son Michael, intellectually superior to Ben, maintains a distant relationship with his father. Susan, Ben's wife, is the decisive force in their household. As the series progresses, Ben's workplace introduces a new character, Roger, who is as goofy as he is naive. When Janey moves out, she is replaced by her equally ditzy friend Abby, who frequently visits with her son, Kenzo, disrupting Ben's longed-for peace and quiet.
