Dare to Stop Us (2018) transports viewers to the vibrant era of spring, 1969, when the Japanese New Wave, celebrated globally through the works of Nagisa Oshima, was at its zenith. The story centers around 21-year-old Megumi Yoshizumi, who joins Wakamatsu Production, a company renowned for its youth-oriented films. Under the guidance of the esteemed pink film director Koji Wakamatsu, a group of young, talented individuals come together, driven by their shared passion for filmmaking. When not engrossed in production, they indulge in smoking, drinking, scouting for actresses, and brainstorming ideas for their next cinematic venture. Once filming commences, the entire crew becomes fully immersed in the process, taking on various roles from running errands to acting on set.
