Tekkonkinkreet (2006) unfolds in the vibrant and perilous streets of Treasure Town, where the moon casts a benevolent glow and young boys possess an extraordinary ability to soar through the air. The narrative revolves around Kuro and Shiro, two resilient orphans who navigate the city's treacherous landscape with the agility of hawks, constantly finding themselves in precarious situations. Their sanctuary in the city's heights is disrupted when a menacing gang of criminals arrives, putting the entire city at risk. Despite the odds, Kuro and Shiro are determined to save their home, even if it means confronting the formidable yakuza and their enigmatic "killer aliens." Adapted from the manga by Taiyou Matsumoto, this high-energy film seamlessly blends traditional animation with cutting-edge 3D technology, resulting in a dynamic and visually stunning urban epic.
