Rango (1931)

Rango (1931) unfolds with a father sharing a tale with his son, highlighting the orangutan as man's closest natural kin, translating to "man of the forest." The narrative follows Ali and his son Bin, inhabitants of a jungle village in Sumatra, who engage in hunting. Ali's ambition to hunt a tiger is thwarted by the orangutans Tua and his infant Rango, who inadvertently interfere with the tiger. While Ali sets a trap for the tiger, the orangutans invade Ali's hut, consuming the stored supplies and causing chaos. Upon discovering the destruction, Ali captures Rango and secures him with a chain. Later, Ali rescues Tua from a black panther. During the night, a tiger infiltrates the camp, but Rango's timely warning allows Bin to scare it away. At dawn, Tua returns to free Rango, who then eats in the hut while Bin tends to the water buffaloes. After the tiger kills a deer, the orangutans alert each other and flee. Two male tigers pursue Bin, Rango, and Tua. Tragically, one of the tigers kills Rango, but the water buffalo intervenes, ultimately killing the tiger.
