Screwed (1998) follows the story of Tsube, a struggling cartoonist who has been living with Kuniko in a modest apartment for two years. Their financial struggles have reached a critical point, leading to their eviction. Kuniko secures a live-in position as a cook at a company dormitory, while Tsube, penniless and desperate, seeks refuge at his friend Kimoto's place, known as "Taihei Apartment." One day, while Kimoto is away, Kuniko visits Tsube. In a moment of desperation, Tsube attempts to steal money from Kuniko's purse but finds a condom instead, sparking suspicions of infidelity. Tsube's imagination runs wild as he envisions Kuniko with another man, leading him to discover her unfaithfulness. Overwhelmed, he attempts suicide by overdosing on pills. He awakens in the hospital, where...
