The Locked Door (1929) follows Ann, who finds herself in a precarious situation while on a ship with her boss's son, Frank. Beyond the 12-mile limit, where liquor is permitted, Frank makes inappropriate advances towards her. As Ann resists, the ship is suddenly raided, and all passengers are forced ashore. Eighteen months later, Ann is celebrating her one-year anniversary with her husband, Lawrence Reagan. However, her sister-in-law reveals her love for Frank, prompting Ann to intervene. Determined to protect her husband's sister from a disastrous union, Ann heads to Frank's apartment to thwart their planned elopement. Complicating matters further, Lawrence also arrives at the apartment that fateful night, leading to a dramatic and intense confrontation.
