D'argent et de sang (2023) is a gripping 12-episode series set in 2005, where Europe introduces a carbon tax to combat climate change, but it inadvertently becomes a "pollute if you pay" scheme for major corporations. The story revolves around two cunning con artists from Belville, Simon Weynachter (Vincent Lindon) and Alain Fitoussi (Ramzy Bedia), who join forces with a wealthy young financier and poker enthusiast, Jérôme Attias (Niels Schneider). Together, they orchestrate an elaborate plan to siphon billions of euros from the European Union's carbon fees into their own coffers. This audacious scheme earns the moniker "the fraud of the century" from the French media.
