The Railway Children (1970) begins in a joyful, well-off upper-middle-class household in Victorian London. One evening, the three siblings witness their father escorting two mysterious individuals into his study. Following a heated discussion, he departs with them and never comes back. The family, now including their mother, faces financial struggles and is compelled to relocate to a rural cottage. Despite their hardships, they maintain a positive outlook and find ways to assist others. Captivated by the adjacent railway, the children diligently wave to the passengers daily, and their attentiveness and bravery avert a potential disaster. Their benevolence earns them the friendship of influential people who can aid in unraveling the enigma of their father's disappearance.
