Border Bandits (1946) commences with Nogales (Lucio Villegas) sharing with his granddaughter Celia (Rosa Del Rosario) that someone is attempting to steal their family's precious jewels. Tragically, Nogales is murdered by Dutch (Bud Osborne), who, along with Spike (John Merton) and Pepper (Tom Quinn), had arrived at the hacienda with nefarious intentions. Steve Halliday (Riley Hill), deeply in love with Celia, pursues the criminals but is gravely wounded. U.S. Marshals Nevada Jack McKenzie (Johnny Mack Brown) and Sandy Hopkins (Raymond Hatton) discover the lifeless body of Sheriff Wallace while en route to discuss the jewel heist. In the adjacent town, Nevada forms an alliance with "Doc" Bowles (Steve Clark (I)) after being ejected from the cantina by a bartender named Cupid ('Pat McGee (II)' ). Unbeknownst to his nephew Steve, town banker John Halliday (Frank LaRue) is the mastermind behind the gang.
