Spy Myung-Wol (TV Series) (2011)

Spy Myung-Wol (TV Series) (2011) follows the adventures of Myeong-Wol (Han Ye-Seul), a North Korean spy who is sent to South Korea with a mission to abduct a famous South Korean entertainer, Kang Woo (Eric Moon). Myeong-Wol is a dedicated agent tasked with curbing the influence of South Korean pop culture in North Korea. Despite failing a crucial test to join the special forces, she remains determined to advance her career, much like her father. Myeong-Wol is then assigned to protect the daughter of a high-ranking military officer during a trip to Singapore, where the daughter is eager to attend a concert featuring Kang Woo. Accompanied by the chief of the special agent team, Choi Ryu (Lee Jin-Wook), Myeong-Wol faces challenges in obtaining Kang Woo's autograph for the daughter. After a series of failed attempts, Myeong-Wol infiltrates a masked auction where Kang Woo purchases an old book. During the event, she intervenes to protect Kang Woo from an attack by masked assailants. Upon returning to North Korea, Myeong-Wol learns that her actions have compromised their mission. Determined to rectify the situation, she travels to South Korea without authorization to complete her assignment. Myeong-Wol's journey takes her to the filming locations of Kang Woo's drama series, where she saves his life during a gas leak incident. This act of heroism gains media attention and leads to a new mission for Myeong-Wol: to marry Kang Woo and persuade him to defect to North Korea.
