Twisted Nerve (1968) follows the story of Martin, a young man grappling with significant personal issues. His overbearing mother treats him like a child, his stepfather is eager for him to leave, and his brother, who has Down's Syndrome, is confined to an institution. These circumstances drive Martin to adopt an alternate persona, that of a six-year-old named Georgie. Georgie forms a bond with Susan Harper, but this friendship quickly evolves into an unhealthy obsession. As Susan starts to pull away, Georgie's fragile mental state begins to unravel, leading to a series of disturbing events.
