Professional Killers (1973) delves into the intricate world of Edo-era assassins, focusing on three formidable figures. Dr. Baian Fujieda, distinguished by his devilish tattoos, stands out as the most prominent among them. His colleagues include a ronin who operates openly and adheres to a code of honor, preferring to engage in fair fights, and Otowaya, the leader of the assassins, who takes personal action when the guild's code is violated. Their code dictates that they only eliminate those deemed harmful to society and avenge the guild if a client misleads them. Despite their belief in never harming the innocent, they recognize their own moral ambiguity. Dr. Baian's latest assignment involves targeting a ruthless brothel owner who appears to fit their criteria for elimination. Unbeknownst to him, she is his long-lost sister, separated from him in childhood, sharing the same blood and, consequently, the same lethal prowess.
