Voice Without a Shadow (1958) follows Asako, a former telephone operator who has been tormented by the voice of a murder suspect she once heard. Years later, her husband extends an invitation to his superior, Hamazaki, for a dinner gathering. Asako is startled to recognize a striking similarity between Hamazaki's voice and that of the killer. Before she can delve deeper into the mystery, Hamazaki is found lifeless, and her husband is immediately suspected of the crime.
