His housekeeper, Mrs. Hudson, alarmed by his condition, calls upon Dr. Watson, who recommends a visit to Vienna to consult with Sigmund Freud, a specialist in dream interpretation. Meanwhile, Lord Robert St. Simon seeks Holmes' help regarding the abrupt vanishing of his new wife, Hettie, who seemed troubled as they exited their wedding ceremony. Lord St. Simon reveals his past relationships, including an affair with actress Flora Miller and two previous marriages. The case takes a darker turn when Lady Helena Agnes Northcote visits Holmes, shedding light on Lord St. Simon's true nature. Upon uncovering the reason behind Hettie's distress on their wedding day, Holmes is able to solve the enigma.
