Secret File (2003) unfolds on May 1, 1947, when notorious outlaw Salvatore Giuliano led an assault on the mountain pass of Portella della Ginestra, aiming to apprehend Sicily's leading communist, Giacomo Licausi. The event, however, culminated in a brutal massacre, resulting in fourteen fatalities and over thirty injuries. By 1951, approximately a year following Giuliano's violent demise, his accomplices face trial in Viterbo. Skeptical of the official narrative, the attorney for Gaspare Pasciotta embarks on a journey to Sicily to delve into the truth behind the events.
