Doctor Who: The End of Time (TV) (2009) sees ancient plans come to fruition as the Master is resurrected, existing in a state between life and death. His ambition turns to the Immortality Gate, an extraterrestrial artifact now possessed by the ruthless Joshua Naismith. Alerted to the Master's return by the Ood, the Doctor journeys to present-day Earth to face his longtime foe, only to be surprisingly aided by Wilfred Mott as the threads of destiny tighten. However, neither the Doctor nor the Master realizes that beyond the Immortality Gate, an even more formidable danger to the entire fabric of time and space is lurking.
