A Rather English Marriage (TV) (1998) follows the story of two elderly British World War II veterans, Reggie (Albert Finney) and Roy (Tom Courtenay), who form an unexpected bond after their wives pass away in the same hospital room on the same day. Reggie, a man of high society, invites Roy, a former milkman, to live with him in his grand mansion. As they navigate their new living arrangement, an unlikely friendship develops between the two. However, their peaceful coexistence is disrupted when Liz (Joanna Lumley), a gold-digging woman, sets her eyes on Reggie, leading to a series of comedic and dramatic events in this Masterpiece Theatre production.
