The Flirting Widow (1930) follows the tale of Phyllis, who is eager to marry Bobby. However, her father refuses to give his blessing until her older sister, Celia, ties the knot. In a clever ploy, Celia fabricates a military fiancé stationed in Arabia, naming him John Smith. She pens a passionate love letter to him and subsequently stages his demise.
