Doctor Who: The Android Invasion (TV) (1975) begins with the TARDIS touching down in the quiet English village of Devesham, where Sarah Jane initially believes they have finally returned to her home. However, it soon becomes clear that something is amiss. The village appears deserted, telephones are out of order, calendars are frozen on the same date, and coins are all minted from the same year. Mysterious figures in white suits roam aimlessly, and the dead begin to rise. The Doctor decides to reach out to UNIT for assistance, but even their trusted allies seem to have undergone a dangerous transformation. The time travelers quickly realize they are in the midst of a simulated environment designed for an impending invasion of Earth.
