The Impossible Spy (TV) (1987) follows the gripping tale of Eli Cohen, a young Israeli man who is enlisted by the Mossad in the early 1960s and dispatched to Syria. Under the guise of a new job that necessitates frequent business trips, Eli settles in Syria, where he forms a close bond with a high-ranking Syrian government official. His covert activities yield crucial intelligence for Israel. During a home visit, Eli's wife implores him to quit his dangerous mission to spend more time with her. His handler also suggests that he has achieved enough, but Eli chooses to return to Syria for one final mission. When he learns of an imminent attack on a kibbutz, he disregards standard safety protocols to alert Israel promptly, ultimately leading to his capture.
