Private Collections (1979) presents a trio of tales. The first narrative follows a lone sailor who tumbles from his vessel and lands on a secluded tropical island. While looking for help, he encounters a nearly nude woman who is both playful and accommodating. He chooses to conceal his signs of distress and stay on the island, leaving the outcome uncertain. In the second story, a teenager embarks on a quest to recall the complete lyrics of a nursery rhyme he vaguely remembers. His journey leads him through dreams, sexual awakening, and Oedipal fantasies. The third tale is set in late-nineteenth century Paris, where a wealthy man hires a prostitute for the night. She is also a cabaret performer and invites him to her room. He becomes anxious, fearing he might be robbed. The secret she holds remains a mystery.
