Undercover (2021) is set in October 2015, when French Customs intercepted a massive seven-ton cannabis shipment in Paris. Around the same time, Hubert Antoine, a former informant with a murky history, reaches out to Stéphane Vilner, a journalist at Libération. Antoine alleges that he can prove the existence of state-sponsored drug trafficking orchestrated by Jacques Billard, a prominent media figure and high-ranking French police officer. Initially skeptical, the young journalist eventually delves into the investigation, uncovering the shadowy underbelly of the French Republic.
