The Tale of the Old Oak (S) (1949) tells the story of a mischievous boy named Makarka who, after his grandmother's departure for the city, engages in destructive behavior. He clears the area, destroys bird nests with chicks, and carves his name into a tree trunk. An ancient oak tree, witnessing his actions, questions his behavior. Makarka, undeterred, dismisses the concern. In response, the offended trees and birds band together to teach Makarka a lesson. Through a series of events, the boy is forced to reflect on his actions and ultimately seeks forgiveness.
