I'm Crazy About Iris Blond (1996) follows the story of Romeo, a middle-aged musician from Rome who hasn't had a hit in two decades. After visiting a fortune teller, he learns that his future holds both love and financial success with a foreign singer whose name is inspired by a flower. His journey takes him to Brussels, where he encounters Marguerite, an older singer known for her interpretations of Jacques Brel and her affection for her noisy dog. Later, while indulging in a late-night burger feast, Romeo meets Iris, a 25-year-old waitress who is a free spirit, poet, and singer with a penchant for frequent romantic encounters. Romeo becomes smitten with Iris and begins setting her poetry to music. They form a musical duo, with Romeo moving in and covering all the expenses. Iris maintains that their relationship is purely professional, with no romantic involvement. The narrative reaches a pivotal point when a prominent producer discovers their performance, setting the stage for potential changes in their dynamic.
