Sucesos distantes (1994) follows a couple, Carlos and Irene, as they navigate a tumultuous period in their relationship. Carlos becomes increasingly suspicious that Irene is concealing secrets from her past in Russia. The situation escalates when Irene's former spouse travels to Mexico and reveals to Carlos that another ex-husband is also planning to stake a claim on Irene.
