Getting to Know You (1999) follows the narrative of two teenagers, Judith and her brother, who share tales of their lives while waiting at a bus stop. The siblings have led a transient life due to their semi-professional ballroom dancing parents, who are now past their prime. Meanwhile, Jimmy, another character, recounts two distinct stories. The first involves two women who encounter a high-roller in Atlantic City, while the second delves into the life of an infertile woman married to a religious zealot. The film is structured in an anthology style, weaving together these three narratives. Throughout the story, various bus station patrons come and go, including a notable bag lady and a heavyset police officer.
