The Lawless Nineties (1936) follows the story of Federal Agents Tipton and Bridger, dispatched to Wyoming as the statehood vote approaches. The notorious Plummer and his criminal crew aim to sabotage the vote. After Plummer's men fatally shoot Bridger, Tipton continues the fight alone. He devises a plan using false telegrams to ensnare some of Plummer's men. Tipton then rallies the local ranchers, and on election day, they converge on the town, which is fortified by Plummer's gang.
