Stray Dog (1949) follows the journey of Murakami, a young and dedicated homicide detective who finds himself in a dire situation when his pocket is picked on a crowded bus, resulting in the loss of his service revolver. Overwhelmed by a mix of panic and embarrassment, Murakami desperately attempts to retrieve the weapon, but his efforts prove futile. It is only when he crosses paths with the seasoned and insightful detective, Sato, that Murakami finds the guidance and support he needs. United in their mission, the duo embarks on a relentless pursuit to apprehend the thief and recover the missing firearm.
