Séance on a Wet Afternoon (1964) follows Myra, a self-proclaimed psychic residing in London, who devises an intricate plan to achieve fame. She persuades her indecisive husband, Billy, to abduct the young daughter of affluent parents. Their intention is to request a ransom and then use Myra's supposed psychic abilities to guide the police to the child and the money. The plot progresses smoothly until Myra's initial meeting with the parents, after which the police become suspicious and decide to investigate her further.
